The way I work…

It’s always my goal to meet my clients exactly where they are.  My style is warm, nurturing, compassionate, and nonjudgmental.   I believe that a strong therapeutic alliance is necessary as a basis for all healing and can also be healing in and of itself.  I take a client-centered, trauma informed approach and look to collaborate on all the work we do together. I draw on multiple theoretical orientations including psychodynamic, attachment, narrative, and CBT, among others. I believe that we must look at the stories we tell ourselves about who we are and try to understand the meaning we’ve attached to them.  These stories can inform our beliefs and feelings about ourselves.  We will learn to move through difficult emotions that may arise in order to develop new ways of coping together. At the end of the day, it’s really just having a conversation.
